We’re building a lake! With everything else that’s been making news in Carolina Park recently, it’s easy to forget that one of the biggest projects of all is well underway back in Riverside. The construction of Bolden Lake – the 20-acre centerpiece of what will become Bolden Park – has been under way for some time, but good weather these past few months has allowed the heavy equipment to work faster and more efficiently. As of this week, the shaping and contouring phase of construction is nearly complete, meaning the overall size and dimensions of the lake have been largely defined. So while there’s still a lot of work ahead, we can now make out what will become the shores of this remarkable amenity and have even formed the island that will be accessible by kayak, canoe and paddle board! Stay tuned for periodic updates as work on Bolden Lake continues.
